I was informed that my image was associated with the www.passero4newlondon.org website. In addition, the use of my image and name identified me as one of Michael Passero’s campaign supporters in his bid for election to the position of mayor of New London.

The use of my name and image was done completely without my knowledge or permission. Permission to use my name and image was not sought by any person associated with Passero’s campaign, nor Passero himself. I object to the use of my name and image for this purpose.

I am employed by the City of New London as the appointed executive assistant to the mayor. The use of this image to imply my support for my employer’s adversary and disloyalty to my employer in an election, it is reasonable to assume, could negatively impact my employment status and livelihood now or in the future; and this is unconscionable.

Who I support is no public secret. I don’t think campaigns should be making authoritative false statements like this about the voting intent of a person.
