What a wonderful piece of history Craig Edwards submitted regarding slavery, “Slavery apologist’s views are appalling,” (Sept 18). He clearly explained and verified the facts of the slave trade.

As he stated, slavery was and is a shameful part of our world's history. To make excuses for it is shameful.

It reminds me of World War II when Nazis went to trial and stated, "I was just following orders."
