I would like to express my appreciation to Dave Crocker and the staff at Crocker's Boat Yard for saving the Herreshoff yacht Doris. This fine old vessel has been preserved because Dave and his crew were patient over the last 30 years. That's right, 30 years. But now she has a new home and an owner who will properly rebuild her.

If it wasn't for these fine people, this troubled boat would have been destroyed years ago and we would have lost the longest wooden yacht built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company in 1905. I commend them for saving this important part of our nautical history.
