Martinez's energy, vision benefit New London schools

My husband Patrick and I have three kids. Our oldest is a third grader at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School and the middle one just started preschool at The Friendship School in Waterford. The older kids are thriving at these LEARN schools, but we live just down the street from CB Jennings Elementary and Bennie Dover Middle. We believe in public education, are excited about the new resources coming into our school system and we want to send our kids to these neighborhood institutions.

We feel optimistic about New London public schools in large part because of the energy, vision and commitment that Mirna Lis Martinez has brought to the school board. I am happy that she has chosen to run again and fully support her continuing to bring her curiosity, passion, dedication to youth empowerment, and sense of justice to the work of strengthening New London schools. As her friend, I want her to forgo such a huge work load, but as a parent and a taxpayer, I am grateful that she is willing to serve our community and our kids.

Mirna’s got my vote for Board of Education.
