I would like to commend you for the accurate description of the Ocean Community YMCA's plans to expand the Mystic branch, “Building A Better Mystic YMCA,” (Nov. 9).

These improved facilities will foster wellness and community for all in the Mystic/ Stonington area and beyond. I am particularly grateful for how you described the Y's unique property, “located on highly coveted waterfront real-estate near Masons Island."

A refurbished and expanded Y will not only provide adults and youngsters with wonderful indoor sports and wellness facilities, but it will serve as a strong magnet to draw so many people to a large waterfront property where they may participate in all sorts of aquatics activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, rowing, and wetlands conservancy.
