    Work-zone safety on our roads

It is too difficult see the signs road workers hold up while trimming trees and working on our roads. Sometimes there is only one sign holder, when there should always be two, one on each end. It should be mandatory that each person has walkie-talkies to communicate.

Sometimes when only one person is holding a sign, and they are on the far end of things, they are almost 100 yards away, the length of a football field, holding a tiny sign expecting you to have the sharp eyes of an eagle to read it! Or they expect you to read their sometimes poor hand signals and body movements, and again usually from a long distance.

Most drivers respect you hard-working state workers and private contractors for the fantastic jobs you do, but we need your help to keep you all safe and protected so you can all end your shift and go home to your families in one piece. It's like everything else in life; people need to communicate correctly, because we, motorists, are not psychic! So in helping us drivers, you are helping yourselves to avoid a bad situation for driver and worker. We all pray for you hard workers.
