What a pleasant surprise I had visiting the Norwich Department of Motor Vehicles office last month. When you live in the most corrupt state in the union one doesn’t know what to expect when interacting with the State of Connecticut. 

But to my surprise, when told to renew my license, I experienced near nirvana. I planned my time accordingly. I arrived at 7:45 for an 8 o’clock Saturday opening. Too my surprise the line wrapped around the building but I got in line anyway. 

By 9:30 I was called up and prepared for my new photo. Then it happened. The computer crashed and I was told to shift left so the second computer could take my picture. Perfection! 

I looked at my car clock when I was done. It read 9:45. Only two hours had passed for a simple license renewal.
