Regarding the latest accidents on I-95 and the Department of Transportation’s claims that driver error is the cause; I'm not sure how finger pointing helps. Ideally, I-95 should be widened from Old Lyme through Stonington but that is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
This brings me to the giant neon sign on The Gold Star Bridge that informs drivers how far they are away from the Rhode Island border.
Perhaps an electric sign warning drivers of the dangerous stretch with the number of fatalities that have occurred in this area. A little dose of reality could be an effective approach.
