David Collins goes too far with his dismissal of Democrat Tim Bowles as "an alpaca farmer," as though he is someone with no qualifications, "The Republican ascent," (April 21). Tim is a Democrat running for Andy Maynard's Senate seat. Here are some facts about Tim. In addition to being "an alpaca farmer," Tim has a Master’s degree in Child Welfare, worked as a Social Worker in the Department of Children and Families, was legislative liaison for the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management, was a Preston selectman, was a state representative for the 42nd District and is a past president of the Connecticut Sierra Club. 

He has devoted his life to public service, and he will run a strong campaign this fall.
