Stop the madness! Move planned museum

Neil Ruenzel was right on target with each of the issues he listed in his letter, “Time to reconsider Coast Guard Museum location," (April 29). It is exactly what I have thought for some time as well as everyone with whom I have discussed this current absurd plan to put the museum behind the train station where it is: inaccessible without the million dollar bridge; at risk from a strong hurricane; makes it more difficult to dock the Eagle; and a terrible visual location!

Fort Trumbull is ideal for this Coast Guard Museum. If those of us who are not architects, engineers, or Coast Guard admirals but citizens of the New London area can see this as ill-planned, why can't they? I imagine the City Pier will have to be modified in some way to dock the beautiful Eagle. It sits quite lovely at the pier at Fort Trumbull.

Please, let Fort Trumbull host this wonderful Coast Guard Museum. Let New London do the correct thing this time. We all need to speak up!
