People should demand term limits for Congress

With interest in the front page article, “Poll: Americans happy at home, upset with the government,” (April 17), I propose it is finally time for the citizens to form a grassroots movement to write and pass the 28th  amendment to the Constitution of the United States; to wit, that term limits will apply to all members of Congress.

Such an amendment is discussed frequently, except by politicians. It would eliminate 90 percent of all problems in Washington, which are caused by members of Congress spending their time, effort and our money trying to get re-elected and wealthy, rather than doing what's right for the country. Term limits were removed from the Constitution draft by the founding fathers because none of them envisioned our representatives in Congress making a full-time career out of being a politician.
