Too little information on East Lyme vote

I find it very interesting that a secret is being held for Thursday's town referendum in East Lyme. Yes, 10 days after the budget approval; but what was that date? No announcement except for a legal notice?

Where is the transparency for letting all taxpayers of the town to know about the upcoming referendum?

Why is there no information on the East Lyme website or in The Day? It would be of great help to inform out-of-town taxpayers to come to vote, but maybe that's how it's supposed to work?
