Writer mimics Trump with bogus claims

As an author you must diligently research the facts before attempting to publish any book of a historical nature. The same rule applies when one writes a letter to the editor of this newspaper. Violating this rule was a letter by John C. Goodrich, “Decency beat depravity with Trump victory,” (Nov. 25), in which he states incorrectly that President Obama "disgracefully threw away the hard-won victory that American forces fought, suffered and died to achieve." Goodrich was referring to our troops leaving Iraq. That fact is that George W. Bush signed that withdrawal agreement before leaving office, which Obama honored.

With regard to his allegations of "disgraceful" abuse of the vice president-elect after a "Hamilton" performance, I saw that clip and saw no disgraceful comments.

As for his labeling Planned Parenthood "barbaric mass killers of unborn children," perhaps Mr. Goodrich should again research those "mass barbaric killings" and see what is the actual percentage. It's great to spout off unsubstantiated claims in the hope that the uninformed public buys into those fallacies. As I see it, that's how Donald Trump got elected. Guess it works.
