Nurses Week past, but the praise isn't

Since May features "Nurses Week," I feel compelled to write a few lines of well-deserved praise for them.

I have seen firsthand, in the last few weeks the unfailing compassion and kindness of this rare breed of people. At first I was in Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on the fourth floor for a week and treated so very well, and then my sister followed. She died on the fifth floor after a long week of illness. I was so impressed with the respect and dignity that she was shown by all members of the staff. Her large family was given the utmost courtesy at all times.

My hat off to the wonderful nurses and the rest of the staff at L+M. You deserve much more than just one week of appreciation!
