So many questions about Coast Guard Museum

An appeal from Milone & MacBroom (The Day) for public input regarding the Coast Guard Museum was baffling. The public has been addressing this for years; responses from the players were virtually none. Following are ideas in addition to the extensive, available files of public input:

    1. Research extant files, using FOI requests as needed.

    2. Present a scale model and official drawings of the project context; include train station, waterfront docks and fishing pier, bus station, statue, school house, Parade, garage, sky walk, Bank and State streets, Tall Ships’ docks, cargo loading/off loading, GD, etc.

    3. Bring to a public referendum — the process is not democratic now.

    4. Who will be replaced; who will pay for police, firefighters, maintenance, upgrades, lawyers, insurance, emergency vehicles, taxes?

    5. Address hazards that include the flood zone, "Zone V," and storage of spent fuel rods at nearby Millstone.

    6. Address a proposed bulkhead that defies nature.

    7. Homeland Security has said “NYC is too vulnerable for LNG storage or transport.” New London, then?

    8. Inexorable expansion at the site.

    9. Calculate access from I-95 for projected 1 million visitors.
