As absurdity grows, revoking 2nd Amendment becomes best option

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos recently said that arming teachers should be considered to prevent school shootings. A recent poll indicates that 51 percent of Americans believe that armed teachers could have prevented the Parkland, Fla. massacre.

My daughter teaches middle school in Brooklyn, N.Y. The day after Parkland, her school was locked down because a copy-cat student threatened another mass murder in her school.

Let me get this straight, the secretary of education, and the majority of my fellow Americans, want to use my daughter as a human shield so that they can maintain their “rights” to play with weapons of mass destruction?

Up until now, I’ve tried to be objective and reasonable about balancing Second Amendment rights with gun control. The current ideas that are being touted to prevent school shootings are so absurd and offensive that I have arrived at a less nuanced view: Revoke the Second Amendment.

I hope to see you all at the March for our Lives, March 24, at the State Capital.
