Free acupuncture offered to police, service personnel

Members of police, fire and ambulance crews, veterans and active duty members of the armed forces are invited to receive a free acupuncture session during March at Natura Medica, 12 Roosevelt Ave., Mystic.

The service is provided to thank those protecting local communities and to raise awareness of acupuncture effectiveness, owner Gregory Fessenden said in a news release. Fessenden, who is board-certified and licensed, will provide the acupuncture, which is widely used for stress management, he said. It can also be used to relieve post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression or sleep disorders. In addition, it can help digestion and menstrual irregularities and can ease chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia, Fessenden said.

To receive a free acupuncture session, contact Fessenden at (917) 882-6262. The offer is limited to one session per person during March.
