    On the Side: Mint Leaf

I really love Indian food. I must admit it takes a little way to get from “it’s okay” to “I love it,” but I’m there. So when I saw an article in the Times by Erica Moser about Mint Leaf, especially about how modern and edgy the restaurant was, I tried it first at the lunch buffet and later for dinner.

The lunch buffet was great: about 12 different appetizes and entrees and two desserts. All were labeled with their names, but not with descriptions. Perhaps they will do that soon.

At dinner two days later, we were a bit unhappy with the apps (the somasa ‘wraps” were overly thick and the pokora way overdone). But all the entrees (biryani, two different curries with chicken, fluffy basmati rice and garlic naan) were stupendous.

And the place itself is gorgeous, with an open kitchen and a long, beautiful bar with gazillion bourbons. Can’t wait to go again.
