Ledyard Pride and Beautification Committee completes first project

Thanks to donations from landscape companies, the Ledyard Pride and Beautification Committee has completed work on several small plots around town. Each company has agreed to donate landscaping and maintenance services for two years after presenting their beautification plans to the committee.

Robin Franklin from Robin in the Garden planted clematis and colorful flowers for the entrance of the old Gales Ferry Cemetery. Sprigs and Twigs cleaned up both “Welcome to Gales Ferry” signs on Route 12 with flowers.

Rich Hines of H&H Landscaping fixed up the Colonel Ledyard Park sign on Blonders Boulevard and plans to plant under the Bill Library sign on Colonel Ledyard Highway at the end of the summer.

Finally, Bill Spicer of Sparkle Lake Services landscaped the hill on the corner of Route 117 and Colonel Ledyard Highway and the Ledyard Senior Center sign on Route 12.

The committee was formed recently to “beautify Ledyard one project at a time.” For more information, visit the committee’s page on Facebook.
