New London — New London Little League is seeking donations of time and money after Wednesday morning’s thunderstorm caused substantial damage at Fenway field.

Pictures the volunteer-based organization posted to Facebook show the storm’s winds — at least one gust was clocked at 95 mph — uprooted a tree and sent it careening into bleachers at the field. The winds also took down a flagpole, which damaged the fence it landed on.

The fields aren’t owned or maintained by the city, so New London Little League is charged with replacing the damaged bleachers, the fence and the flagpole.

Donations can be made to New London Little League, P.O. Box 248, New London, CT, 06320.
