The Katherine Walker is a 175-foot Keeper-class coastal buoy tender home-ported in Bayonne, New Jersey. According to the Coast Guard's Atlantic Area web site, the Katherine Walkers's area of responsibility spans from Long Island Sound, from New Haven west, and the north and south shores of Long Island to New York and New Jersey and is responsible for a total of 335 aids to navigation.
