East Lyme — Tonight’s debate between First Selectman Mark Nickerson and challenger Wes Firmin will take place as scheduled at East Lyme High School, starting at 7 p.m. The roughly hour-long debate will be followed by a forum that will give voters a chance to meet candidates running for other town positions.

Though East Lyme schools were closed Monday due to power outages and damage caused by the overnight storm, the high school did have power Monday and will be ready to host the debate, according to the superintendent’s office.
