Westerly — The 12th annual WARM Center Penguin Plunge will be held at noon Jan. 1 at the Andrew Hotel in Misquamicut.

The event raises funds for Westerly Area Rest and Meals, which assist the needy and homeless in southeastern Connecticut and southern Rhode Island by providing affordable housing and support services for the past 30 years.

All participants receive a T-shirt and hot lunch. Costumes are welcome and water shoes are strongly recommended. Registration is at www.warmcenter.org. Entry fee is $25 for adults and $20 for active military and those under 18.
