Norwich police said they charged a 41-year old city man with sexually assaulting a juvenile over a significant period of time.

Emelio Lisboa was charged Monday with first-degree sex assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of $200,000.

Lisboa was arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court in Norwich. A judge transferred the case to the New London court where major crimes are tried. His next court date is April 16.

An arrest warrant affidavit with details of the allegations was not immediately available.
