New London — A power outage Wednesday afternoon has been resolved after nearly 150 Eversource customers — including The Day's building on Eugene O'Neill Drive — lost power about 3:35 p.m.

Those outages were reported throughout New London, mainly in the vicinity of Ocean Avenue and Gordon Court. Eversource confirmed that the outage was due to some problems with underground power lines in the vicinty of Union Street, but could not state a cause. New London Police, as of 6 p.m., also could not confirm the reason. 

Technicians worked quickly to reroute power to affected customers, Eversource said earlier in the afternoon, and power was restored to cutomers shortly before 6 p.m.
