After three games at home, Black Wolves travel all the way to Edmonton

The New England Black Wolves spent their first three games in franchise history in the comforts of their home arena at Mohegan Sun. Today, their first road trip, takes them 2,700 miles northwest for a National Lacrosse League game at Crystal Glass Field at Rexall Place in Edmonton. The Black Wolves (2-1) take on the Edmonton Rush (1-2) beginning at 9:30 p.m. tonight.

The Black Wolves are coming off a 19-13 loss to the Minnesota Swarm last Saturday, despite getting five goals from Kevin Buchanan. Edmonton beat Calgary that same night as Mark Matthews, Jarrett Davis and Riley Loewen each scored three goals.

The Black Wolves were coming off a bye week prior to their game against Minnesota, something coach Blane Harrison doesn't think his team handled particularly well.

"We had some obvious, well-publicized early success; that is always nice to get but is sometimes dangerous to get," Harrison said on this week's league conference call. "Then we go into a bye week and come back and I really felt that hurt us, especially mentally. Some of the goals we gave up … quite honestly, I don't think we responded very well.

"You always have to learn from your failures. It always seems to be the best teacher."

Kevin Crowley leads the Black Wolves with nine goals, 11 assists and 20 points. Matthews leads the Rush with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points.

The game can be viewed live online at live.nll.com or TSN.ca.
