Local roundup: Norwich Tech baseball team wins at Cooperstown

Cooperstown, N.Y. — Mitch Clapsadle's solo homer run in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Norwich Tech baseball team to a 3-1 win over Ellis Tech in a Constitution State Conference East Division game played at historic Doubleday Field, which is behind the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Steve Seiczkowski's RBI single later in the inning gave the Warriors (2-3) some breathing room. Seiczkowski was 3-for-3 and stole six bases. Connor Dulin was the winning pitcher, striking out seven with no walks over five innings. Due to the field conditions, this was the first game played on the field this season.
