    • Waterford scored 16 runs in the fourth inning en route to a 20-0 win over East Lyme in a game shortened to five innings because of the mercy rule. District 10 softball (11-12)

    • Gina McKittrick and Taylor Lee each had two of Waterford's 11 hits in an 8-0 win against Pawcatuck. Madison Nott went 3-for-3 with two triples to back Rachel Nasser, who struck out five and allowed one hit.

    • On Thursday, Ledyard beat Lyme/Old Lyme, 7-6, in a game that featured seven ties or lead changes. Codee Carroll drove in two runs, including the game-winner, and teammate Samantha Fancher stole six bases, including two swipes of home. Grace Lathrop scored three times with a single and double for Lyme/Old Lyme.

    • Olivia Quagan struck out eight in a complete-game effort to lead East Lyme over Groton/Mystic, 4-2, also on Thursday. Angie Venditti (triple) had two hits, and Kelly Laplant contributed a triple. Aspen Ryan struck out nine for Groton/Mystic.
