    Local roundup: St. Thomas More rolls past Bridgton

    Montville — Zach Ratz scoed 19 points as St. Thomas More remained undefeated with a 97-67 win over Bridgton Academy in a men's basketball game on Friday.

    Ratz was 6-for-7 from 3-point range. Kai Mitchell had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Christian Vital had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists, Canaan Bartley scored 15, Mike Sagay had 11 points and Tre Witter scored 10 for T-More (7-0).

    College wrestling

    • Coast Guard Academy split is home opener, defeating Southern Maine 33-14 before losing to Roger Williams 39-9. Roger Williams (7-0) is ranked fifth in the nation. In the win over Southern Maine, the Bears (1-1) picked up pins from Mike Palomba (165 pounds) and Mike Shermot (174), while Marc Wagner (184) won by technical fall, Chris Sullivan (157) by major decision, Earl Roberts (125) and Kevin Painten (heavyweight) by decision and Dominick Summers (133) by forfeit. In the loss to Roger Williams, Wagner won by pin and Sullivan earned a 1-0 decision.

    Men's hockey

    • Colby College took a 2-0 lead after two periods and held on to beat Connecticut College 3-2 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Tim DiPretoro had a goal and an assist, Joe Birmingham scored, Greg Liautaud and Joe Giordano had assists and Tom Conlin made 36 saves for Conn (1-5-2, 0-3-2).

    Girls' basketball

    • Christian Heritage pulled away in the second half for a 38-27 win over Williams School. Claudia Pagnozzi-Schwam had 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots for the Blues (0-3) while Bea Mills added four points, six rebounds and three steals and Camryn Werbinski had seven rebounds.
