    Staten Island wins 10th straight, beats Connecticut 4-0

    Staten Island, N.Y. — Juan De Paula allowed just one hit over seven innings, leading the Staten Island Yankees over the Connecticut Tigers in a 4-0 win Thursday in the New York-Penn League.

    De Paula (4-3) struck out seven and walked one to pick up the win for Staten Island (36-19), which has won 10 straight games.

    In the second inning, Staten Island went up 1-0 on a sacrifice fly by Kendall Coleman that scored Timmy Robinson. The Yankees scored again in the sixth when Coleman hit a two-run double and Jason Lopez scored on a ground out.

    Oswaldo Castillo (1-2) went five innings, allowing one run and three hits for the Tigers (24-28). He struck out two and walked three.

    Connecticut was blanked for the seventh time this season, while the Staten Island staff recorded its eighth shutout of the year.

    Staten Island improved to 4-1 against Connecticut this season.
