Williams, a 6-foot-4 junior forward, reached the milestone on his second field goal of the second half. He grabbed an offensive rebound and quickly converted the put-back to become just the fifth Mitchell men's player to reach the 1,000-point milestone in the program's Division III era.

Matt Finke scored a career-high 19 points for the Mariners (14-7, 8-4), including 14 in the first half when Mitchell shot 63 percent from the floor and opened a 52-29 lead. Finke went 5-for-10 from beyond the three-point line.
