    Westerly Hospital program to help smokers quit

    Westerly - The Westerly Hospital is offering a seven-week smoking cessation program, called "Freedom from Smoking," from 5:30 to 7 p.m. beginning on Jan. 6 in the hospital's Henry J. Nardone Conference Center. Sessions will meet for seven consecutive Tuesdays. An additional session will take place on Jan. 29.

    The program will be led by The Westerly Hospital respiratory therapists trained in the American Lung Association program. Participants will learn tools and strategies to recover from tobacco addiction and help them permanently quit. The fee is $25 per participant to cover the cost of materials. The program is limited to 20 participants.
