Aquarion Water Co., which serves customers in Mystic and Stonington, is seeking nominations of individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations whose volunteer efforts have protected or improved the state's natural resources for its 5th annual Environmental Champion Awards.

The company will name winners in five categories: Adult, Student, Small Business, Large Business and Nonprofit Organization.

"Each year, we are seeing more and more outstanding projects enter the Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards that not only help preserve our state's environment, but also deliver impactful results," said Charles V. Firlotte, president and CEO of Aquarion Water Co. Awards range from $1,000 to $2,500. Aquarion will honor the winners on June 6 at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport.
