Plenty of clearance under Gold Star Bridge

The Thames Towboat Co. tugboat John Paul heads down the Thames River and passes under the Gold Star Memorial Bridge as seen looking toward New London from the state boat launch in Groton Monday. The 59-foot John Paul was built in 1967 by Houma Shipbuilding of Houma, La., and acquired by Thames Towboat in 2003.
