Brule slated for appointment as Waterford selectman

Waterford – The Board of Selectmen is slated to appoint Republican Representative Town Meeting member Robert Brule to the board Tuesday.

Assuming Brule is appointed, he will need to resign from the RTM.

First Selectman Daniel Steward said he recommended Brule to replace Republican Selectman Paul Suprin in part because Brule is Steward's running mate in the 2015 Board of Selectmen elections. Suprin has moved to Florida and resigned March 31, according to Steward.

Brule is chief operating officer at Project Genesis, a nonprofit that serves people with disabilities. Steward said Brule grew up in Waterford and mentioned that Brule coached Steward's daughter in soccer.

Brule has served on the Recreation and Parks Commission, School Building Committee, and the building committee established at the time of the construction of the community center, according to Steward.
