Stonington — The Stonington Free Library has scheduled a May 6 Paddington Storytime to help the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness raise awareness and funds to end family homelessness.

During the 6:30 to 7 p.m. event, children will read the story of Paddington bear, talk about family homelessness and participate in activities in an age-appropriate way. They can also participate in a marmalade jar fundraiser to help those in need. Orange marmalade is Paddington’s favorite food. Last December, CCEH partnered with Paddington to launch its be homeful, a campaign designed to help families on the brink of homelessness by making funds available to keep them in their homes. A film about Paddington, who was once homeless in the book about him, opened in theaters in January.
