Tree trimming to take place this week in Old Lyme

Old Lyme — Eversource Energy, formerly known as Connecticut Light & Power, has contracted with Lucas Tree to perform tree trimming within several sections of Old Lyme this spring, a notice on the town's website states.

According to Eversource, the tree trimming will help reduce the number of tree-related power outages and improve electrical service reliability.

Trimming is scheduled to take place this week on the following streets: Boggy Hole Road, Hillside Road, Saunders Hollow Road, Sill Lane and Whippoorwill Road.

In addition, representatives from Lucas Tree will continue to go door to door to notify residents about the planned trimming on behalf of Eversource. All Lucas Tree employees will have proper identification, the notice states.
