    UPDATED: NFA moves graduation indoors

Norwich – For the first time in decades, Norwich Free Academy will have to move its graduation ceremony indoors, with restricted access to the ceremony and nearby video viewing venues.

NFA officials announced this morning that the ceremony will be at 4 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium for the 506 graduates.

Only guests with tickets with off-white "indoor/outdoor" tickets will be allowed into the gymnasium. Slater Auditorium and Norton Gymnasium will be accessible to overflow guests with off-white "indoor/outdoor" tickets, red "outdoor" tickets, and pink handicapped seating tickets.

The Sydney Frank Center ensemble and band room will be accessible only to guests with pink handicapped seating tickets. One other ticket of any other color may accompany guests with pink tickets.

Seating will be on a "first come, first seated basis." Buildings will be open for seating at 2:45 p.m.

Guests without tickets will not be accommodated in any of the viewing areas, NFA officials said.

The ceremony will be broadcast on Channel 12, Educational Access, NFA-TV, on Comcast Norwich cable TV beginning at 4 p.m.

Shuttle service is available for ticket holders only to and from the Norwich Recreational Department parking area near Kelly Middle School at Mahan Drive and Mohegan Road. Service begins at 2:30 p.m., and will run throughout the ceremony.
