    Can you read to me, please

    Phyllis Murphy, a resident at Fairview Odd Fellows Home, enjoys being read to by Elizabeth Herrera, a fifth-grader at Mary Morrisson Elementary School during the final party for the Groton Public Library’s Book Buddy program.

    The final party of the Groton Public Library’s Book Buddy program was held recently at Fairview Odd Fellows Home. Fifth-graders from Mary Morrisson Elementary School read and crafted with the residents, who met with the children once a month during the school year.

    Alekzander Perez, a fifth-grader at Mary Morrisson Elementary School, reads to Nita Pappas, a resident at Fairview Odd Fellows Home as part of the Groton Public Library’s Book Buddy program which concluded with the end of the school year.
    Sebastian Santillana Gonzalez, a fifth-grader at Mary Morrisson Elementary School, reads to and crafts with Livia Bega, a resident at Fairview Odd Fellows Home as part of the Groton Public Library’s Book Buddy program. The program matches seniors with students.
