New London mayoral candidate Passero hosts forum Thursday

New London — Democratic Mayoral Candidate Michael Passero plans to detail his public safety platform at a community forum Thursday at the New London VFW Post 189.

The forum is the third is a series of public meetings planned in the weeks leading up to what is expected to be a Sept. 16 Democratic primary against incumbent Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio.

Finizio has announced his intention to petition his way onto the ballot after Passero received the nomination from the Democratic Town Committee.

The free event begins at 5 p.m. with free pizza and refreshments. Passero’s presentation begins at 5:30 p.m.

Post 189 is at the intersection of Jefferson and Garfield avenues.
