Gales Ferry — Multiple fire crews worked to extinguish a house fire at 29 Chapman Lane that erupted Sunday night.

Ed and Terri Isenburg and their two children, Brock and Jolie, lived in the home, according to Maze Stephan, chief engineer of the Young Engineers and Robotics afterschool program that she said the children participate in. Brock is going into fourth grade and Jolie is going into sixth grade, she said.

The Isenburgs were not home at the time of the fire.

Stephan said the program is hosting a fundraiser and clothing drive for the family, who lost their house as a result of the fire. The fundraiser will take place at Galaxy Roller Rink in Groton from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Attendees will be asked to give a donation at the door in support of the family and will also have to pay regular prices to skate.

Anyone with questions about the fundraiser can call Stephan at (860) 961-1820.

No cause for the fire has been determined. Eversource was on scene Sunday to monitor multiple power lines in the area and near where the blaze was being fought.
