New London mayor extends contract with public works director
New London — Mayor Michael Passero has extended by two months the city's contract with interim Public Works Director Brian Sear. Passero said he will continue to consider his options on how best to permanently fill that position.
Sear was appointed by former mayor Daryl Justin Finizio in June after he fired the previous director, Timothy Hanser.
Sear is a former first selectman in Canterbury and previously represented the 47th House District in the General Assembly.
Passero said Sear to date has been doing a “great job” in the position.
With the new contract, Sear will remain in the position until at least the beginning of February.
