Groton — A faulty transformer led to about 1,000 Groton residents losing power for an hour Tuesday morning.
Frank E. Winkler, spokesman at Groton Utilities, said the "failed" transformer was replaced.
Winkler said the outage affected customers on Route 184 and areas north of Route 184.
The Naval Submarine Base lost power and entered into its emergency management plan, which includes the use of backup generators.
The base is fully operational with no impact, Mark Jones, a member of the public affairs team at the base, said.
The outage was reported around 10:20 a.m.
