Mystic -- Organizers of the annual Mystic Memorial Day Parade on May 30 are accepting applications from groups who wish to march in this year’s event.

The 2 p.m. parade, which is sponsored by the Hugo Simonelli Veterans of Foreign Wars post will assemble on Water, Pearl, and Gravel streets on the Groton side of the Mystic River. All units are requested to be at their assembly points by 1 p.m. As in the past there is no entry fee, judging, or prizes. No candy or goods may be thrown for safety reasons.

A memorial service will be held at the post home across from the Brustolon car dealership on Route 1 immediately following the parade. Food and beverages will be available in the rear lot of the post with parking in the upper rear lots.
