Groton Police announce temporary no-parking order

Groton — Groton town police will issue a temporary no-parking order this weekend for roads near the Navy Youth Recreation Center for the annual “Kids Karnival.”

The no-parking order will be effective from noon on Friday until 11 p.m. on Sunday for the following roads: Hickory Drive, from Route 12 to the eastern intersection with Butternut Road; Butternut Road; Plum Lane; Charter Oak Drive, from Route 12 to Spruce Lane; and Spruce Lane.

Free shuttle service will be provided to the carnival from Pleasant Valley Elementary School on Pleasant Valley Road South and from the Navy Child Development Center on Dewey Avenue.
