Groton man injured in motorcycle accident in Waterford

Waterford — A Groton man was injured when a car rear-ended the motorcycle he was driving on Boston Post Road on Tuesday evening, police said.

Christopher Richards, 30, of Groton was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with injuries that didn’t appear serious, Waterford Police Lt. Timothy Silva said.

The accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of Fog Plain Road.

Both vehicles were heading south on Route 1, when Richards stopped to make a left into a private driveway, Silva said.

A car, driven by Gregory Hanner, 54, of Waterford rear-ended the motorcycle.

Hanner was cited for following too close.
