Holiday closings for Monday

Monday is Independence Day, a state and federal holiday.

n Federal, state and municipal offices will be closed. State parks will be open.

n Libraries and senior centers will be closed.

n Post offices are closed, although Express Mail, special deliveries and perishable items will be delivered.

n Banks and credit unions will be closed.

n U.S. financial markets will be closed.

n Southeast Area Transit District will not be in service.

n Shore Line East and Metro-North trains are operating on a regular schedule.

n Department of Motor Vehicles offices close at 12:30 p.m. Friday and reopen on Tuesday.

n Connecticut Lottery Corp. headquarters will be closed. Regularly scheduled lottery drawings will occur.
