    Hearing on L+M-Yale-New Haven affiliation continued to July 26

    New London — The state Office of Health Care Access will resume its public hearing on the proposed affiliation of Lawrence + Memorial Healthcare and the Yale-New Haven Health System at 3 p.m. July 26 at the Holiday Inn, 35 Gov. Winthrop Boulevard.

    The first part of the hearing took place Monday, concluding after about six hours of public testimony and presentations by L+M and Yale-New Haven, followed by a presentation by the intervenors, a coalition of 10 health care, consumer, civil rights and labor groups.

    The hearing will continue with cross-examination by representatives of L+M and Yale-New Haven of the intervenors, and a cross-examination of the two hospitals by the intervenors. After that, OHCA staff will ask questions. 

    Written testimony on the application is being taken until July 29.
