    Salem Public Schools to destroy inactive special education records

    Salem — In accordance with Section 7-109 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Salem Public Schools will be destroying inactive special education records.

    As of Sept. 30, all inactive special education records of students born in 1991 or earlier will be destroyed.

    Inactive special education records from students who graduated or moved out of the district more than six years ago also will be destroyed.

    Copies of the special education files may be obtained for Social Security benefits or other purposes by contacting Patti Wenrich, administrative assistant to the Director of Student Services, at (860) 859-3988 before Sept. 26.
