    Ocean Beach closed Monday

    New London — Ocean Beach will be closed Monday due to dangerous currents and riptides caused by Hurricane Hermine.

    According to a press release, ocean conditions at the beach have gotten progressively worse over the weekend, and lifeguards had to assist a beachgoer Sunday.

    The 98.7 WNLC Classic Car Cruise Night scheduled for Monday night has also been canceled. The last cruise night of the season will be held Sept. 12.
